Scaffold Structural Analysis

Some scaffold structures due to their location, sensitivity or complicated nature require to be modelled with cutting edge finite element analysis software to determine the magnitude of forces in the scaffold structure and reaction applied to the structure or ground. The scaffold model is generated on FEA software, Scia Engineer, environmental and superimposed loads are then applied to the structure and the results then examined to ensure that all member forces are within their permissible values.

On sensitive structures (historic buildings) the tie values are very important to the client so we can ensure that the structure is capable of supporting the load applied. The FEA modelling also allowing for different bracing patterns to be explored to increase the efficiency of the scaffold structure or investigate different locations for ties or ground bearing struts.
